I've been here in Marfranc since Friday. My travel went well, even though Tortug Air in Haiti lost my reservation! I preached Sunday at our sister church in Marfranc. Steve and I have started to frame some screens for the house here. Today we had our big meeting with Pastor Plaisir and talked about projects for this year, and worked out more of the details for the new child sponsorship program (our first June team will be collecting photos and information on the children. I've also been working with Steve and Joline to figure out our project budget for this year. The first floor classrooms of the new school are packed with kids, even though the final smooth cement still has to be applied to most of the inside walls. Next we need to get the second floor built, and we are working on the schedule for that. Thursday I'll be traveling to the mountain village of Plik with Pastor Plaisir, if we don't get too much more rain (today was beautiful). Friday I fly out for home. If you've never been to Haiti with us, let me just say that it changes your life every time you come. I also have to tell you that the view from the porch of the new house here in Marfranc is fantastic. There's nothing like looking across the river at the fog lifting from the mountains with a cup of Haitian coffee in your hand. And as I write this, the moon is shining off the river and reminding us that some remnant of Eden is still to be found in a place like this. Of course in Eden no one was hungry.

Just wanted you all to know that Fran arrived in Port safe and sound, without any hitches! He sounds really tired, said he didn't get any sleep last night and since he had to be up at 3:00 to catch his 6:00 AM flight....I'm guessing he is pooped. He'll be on the first plane in the AM...so will leave here at 6:45 AM to go into town to get him. It has been raining all last night and today and hasn't gotten over 70 all day. Okay, I know I’m talking to people that are freezing cold...however, that is really cold for us here. I have had long sleeves on all day and long pants and put socks on tonight!
Okay, just wanted everybody to know he is in country and we will get him in the morning!
Blessings,
Joline
