An important update about New Life for Haiti’s future

A graphic of a smiling man and a quote about his commitment to New Life for Haiti

New Life for Haiti is going back to its roots for a season.

After serving as the organization’s executive director for the past two years, David Larson has resigned from his role. We appreciate his heart for Haiti and look forward to seeing what is in store for him next.

At this time, New Life for Haiti is operating on a volunteer basis in the U.S. This is not a new position for the organization, which has grassroots origins fueled by engaged and passionate volunteers and generous supporters like you.

What is different today is that the programs and ministry New Life for Haiti sets out to do in-country are carried out by 60 staff members in Haiti, guided by Vilex Plaisir, NLH’s faithful, wise, and dedicated field director, under the authority of the NLH board of directors, based in the U.S.

New Life for Haiti’s board remains 100 percent committed to the mission and purpose of the organization, completely supportive of Vilex’s leadership and in regular communication with staff in Haiti. We are coming together to continue advancing our goals and seeking the Lord’s guidance on what New Life for Haiti’s future will be.

And you play a vital role in that future.

We are looking ahead to celebrating 20 years of impact in Haiti this summer—and we hope to continue making a difference in the lives of those we encounter for another 20 years. But in order to remain fiscally responsible, we have some hard decisions to make in the coming months.

Would you join us in praying for New Life for Haiti?

Please pray for those we serve. Life in Haiti is not easy and what we can offer sometimes seems like so little.

Please pray for our staff. We are so grateful for their commitment to the mission and vision of the organization, for the way they show up day after day to carry out the tasks to accomplish those things.

Please pray for our supporters—past, present, and future. We are very thankful for you all and the way you pour out God’s love on our friends in Haiti! Pray for renewed support and new outreach efforts.

Please pray for our leaders. Pray for Vilex, for his stamina, for wisdom in decision making. Pray for the board as we discern God’s will.

Please pray for the country of Haiti and its future. It’s all too easy to see or hear a news report and think nothing good is happening there, but we know God is working and he is present.

And if you have any ideas or thoughts for us or if you’d like to volunteer your time, let us know! New Life for Haiti wouldn’t be New Life for Haiti without you and your support.

Mèsi anpil! Bondye beni ou!
